Snowblind
This time, I have a peace of creative writing I would like to share. This particular short scene came to my mind after heavy snowfall in my area. It is very discriptive and plays with metaphores. I'm very keen on this style of writing and I find it so enjoyable to read.
Snowblind
The snowfall had continued for hours like it was the Nordic apocalypse. Enough white powder to force even the worst of narcs go snowblind. The moon glimmered on the starry sky illuminating the path towards probable danger.
My stroll in this hellish forest felt never-ending. Even after two miles, the cops still managed to keep up with me. The budget cuts of the boys in blue had swinged the odds in my favor. No snowmobiles to be afraid of. But as long as my leg kept bleeding like a bottle of ketchup way past its expiration date, they would stay on the hunt. My body started trembling from all the blood loss while my consciousness began to fade. Taking the easy way out began to sound tempting, only if I still had my gun. Otherwise, my last thoughts would already decorate this hiking trail.
The forest continued to get even more dense. The platonic blues of the sirens intensified. I was walking straight to the wolf's den. I took a hard-left but before I realised, a fed with the grin of a ten thousand dollar paycheck was in front of me. The shot from his semi-auto rifle pierced my chest in the force of a diamond drill. I fell on the fluffy snow bank. Now, face-to-face with the moon, I eagerly waited what the bastard would say:
“You are one annoying motherfucker!”
“Took the words right out of my mouth pal. You got lazy or want to get home earlier? Shooting me right away is a lousy trick.”
The cop laughed like an uncle after a couple of drinks.
“Sometimes, the assholes you hunt just have to die. Your kind always have a place reserved in hell.”
“Well, we’ll meet soon enough again there, won't we?”
“Dream about it in your eternal dreamland psycho.”
His last words were just nonunderstandable mumbling at this point. At least I would go to hell with the face of my sender in fresh memory. The arrival of death’s cold embrace came. Then my run was finally over.
